Award winning agency

Visiting Richmond this weekend was a great way to learn about the history of the US and also get caught up with the AD world. As I was reading Ad Age on Monday at the airport I came across the article that listed the top 10 agencies in the US for 2009. To my surprise, the Martin Agency was #4. The more research I do, the more I find that the Martin Agency is becoming a big player in the world of creative advertising. They have produced three of my favorite spots.

Although the songs are annoying, the freecreditreport.com commercials grab my attention. There couldn't be a more unique way to show the importance of credit checks than having a garage band make up songs about how their life has been ruined due to their poor credit.

I am sure everyone is aware of the Geico spots but I would bet that most people don't know who produced those ads. Again the Martin Agency, using their unique creative talent, gave us a character that we all recognize.

Finally, the UPS whiteboard ads. Those are my favorite because the spots are so clean and sterile but yet have a distinct way of catching my eye and keeping my attention. One interesting fact that I just found out is that the "white board guy" is actually an employee of the Martin Agency. Not only is he just another employee, he is the creative director on the account. What an awesome job that would be!
